64% of UK women have been bullied or harassed at work

According to a new research report, more than 60% of women at work have been bullied or harassed in the workplace, 12% of whom considered they were sexually harassed.

The high incidence could be one of the reasons why women’s careers falter in the surveyed age group – 28-40.

Despite all the well-intentioned HR policies, there seems to be little impact on the occurence rates of bullying. Why is that? Could it be we don’t believe the victim and question their motivation for complaining or is that the perpetrators hold the position of power or influence?
